I'm looking into making some household cleaners - we have so much baking soda, vinegar, etc. lying around that we only use in small amounts, and I can't help but think that there have to be other uses for them. Have you ever made any cleaners? Any recipe/concoction work particularly well? I'll take whatever ideas you've got - bath tub, kitchen, floors...

ReplyDeleteI keep a spray bottle of 1 C vinegar, 1 C water by my kitchen sink. I use it throughout the day to clean / disinfect the sink, counters, etc. I have also used a vinegar solution to mop the floor. (It was supposed to be 1:1 ratio water and vinegar but I was running low on vinegar... oh well!)
ReplyDeleteBaking soda I use with a wet rag to really scrub things that need to be whitened / brightened.
Straight vinegar I've used to remove hard water build-up.
Dawn I use to get oil out of clothing.
That's all I've got. :)
I put a couple of glugs of white vinegar into the bleach dispenser each time I wash a load of laundry. It's supposed to soften the clothes and keep the colors from bleeding/fading. We do not use scented laundry detergents and they do not smell like vinegar when they come out of the dryer and
